The musical numbers are set to a backdrop of inspired island stories performed by the films wonderfully talented cast. With the exception of the two songs performed by Moana's mother, Rapa Nui, Moana is voiced by a woman. Though not unusual in feature films, the casting of a woman to portray a young Native American character is somewhat of a novelty. Though her role in the film is limited, My Favorite Things is a catchy song that Moana performs solo. Vocal talent is top notch from the cast. I'm not surprised to learn that Jemaine Clement has over 400,000 followers on Twitter. Just be careful with Moana because it takes a while to get her to snuggle up to you again.
