The Sophos Connect Client is a software application that allows users to connect to and use Sophos products and services. It is available for Windows, Mac, and Linux. The client provides a graphical user interface (GUI) for interacting with Sophos products and services, and a command-line interface (CLI) for advanced users. The Sophos Connect Client supports multiple languages, including English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Portuguese, Spanish, and Swedish.
Sophos Connect clients can be installed on both Windows 7 SP2 and later, as well as Mac OS X 10.4 and later. This method provides highly secure, encrypted VPN tunnels for employees who are not on-site. You can connect to Sophos Secure Socket Layer. The Sophos Connect client can be used to allow remote access to your network from any computer or device with an SSL connection.
The Sophos SSL VPN Client is a software application that allows users to connect to remote networks and access resources as if they were on the local network. The client uses the industry standard SSL/TLS protocol to provide a secure connection, and is compatible with a wide range of network devices and appliances.
Remote access SSL VPN connections must be configured in order to be successful. Connect clients allow users to establish a connection with Sophos. The client provides you with advanced security and flexibility settings, such as automatic tunnel connections. More information about the client can be found at Compatibility. To use Sophos Connect, you must first install and then import the.ovpn file from your endpoint devices. For SSL VPN clients to connect to Sophos Firewall, a private address range must be used. It is critical to check device access settings by giving access to certain services from certain zones.
Sophos has announced that the Sophos SSL VPN Client will be discontinued on 31 January 2022. Sophos SSL VPN clients will continue to function, but new downloads will no longer be possible after 31 January 2022. For new client deployments, we recommend using Sophos Connect. For existing deployments, we recommend migrating as soon as possible.
If you are using Mac OS or Linux as your operating system and want to use an SSL VPN, we recommend using OpenVPN or similar alternatives. Appropriate configuration files for OpenVPN can be downloaded from the Sophos UTM or Sophos Firewall user portal.
As you can see, I create two users for this purpose. This simplifies configuration on the client end. Configure \"lanssl\" as a user, and \"wanssl\" as another user. These names will come to make sense in step 2.
Windows configuration is so simple that all you need to do is select the first download option from the UTM's User Portal to install the software. After it is installed, right-click the traffic light in the bottom right hand corner of your screen and click Connect.
If you need to download and install a copy of Sophos UTM, information can be found at -us/support/utm-downloads.aspx. We won't be covering the details of setting up a Sophos UTM instance, many guides can be found online. If you are running a different version of Sophos UTM, it's very likely that many or even all of the steps outlined in this guide will still apply. If you are looking to setup an OpenVPN server on a different operating system, please check out our other guides.
Your client device needs to be connected to the Sophos UTM server via the LAN interface. This is necessary so that you can access the WebAdmin portal to set up the Sophos UTM configuration. The specifics of how you can achieve this depend on your particular network configuration.
First you need to log in to the WebAdmin portal from your client device connected to the LAN interface of the Sophos UTM server. Open a browser on your client and navigate to the IP address of the LAN interface of your Sophos UTM server (something like :4444 or :4444). You will need to login. The password for the admin user should have been configured when you set up your Sophos UTM instance. 153554b96e
