It all started with the major update earlier in the year where the game disabled all mods. I go onto the game and it comes up with the standard dialogue "Mods have been disabled" "EA does not support Mods" "re-enable mods through the options", so I go to options, re-enable mods, apply the changes, restart the game, but when I load up to the main menu it comes up with the same dialogue and automatically disables mods again? It's been doing this for months now.
This removed it COMPLETELY from my documents (If it doesn't, just delete the folder but make sure you moving it to the other drive as a back up worked first if you don't want to lose anything like mods/saves/screen captures.) and then i restarted the game which will create a new Electronic Arts folder. Once started, i enabled mods, went out of the game, put my mods back in my new mods folder, restarted the game and IT TOOK. IT WORKED.
@Lionhart127 Are script mods still enabled in settings? Sometimes the change to reenable them doesn't stick. In that case, the fix is to delete options.ini (in Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4) and let the game generate a new one. You'll need to redo all your in-game settings, but hopefully the mod setting will stick this time around.
If mods are enabled but not showing up, your particular mods might be outdated and incompatible with the current patch. In that case, check with the creators to see whether there are updated versions, and replace whatever you can.
I am really upset by this. Some mods were created myself. My account Avatar has a mod, long blond hair! I am sick to death of patches and updates upsetting game settings. Not just Sims4, but other games, sims and apps. If this can not be fixed I will NOT be playing Sims4 anymore, and will NOT entertain buying any Origin/EA games again!!!
So basically, The Sims 4 would do the start up screen and then just be white, and it wouldn't let me exit it without restarting my entire computer. But, I fixed that and recently I've started downloading CC. Buuuut when I go into the game and go into CAS none of the CC is there, and it said that CC and script mods where already enabled when I went to go do it, I even un-enabled it and re-enabled it and exited my game. It seems like nothings working and it's stressing me out- Right now I'm trying to repair the game but I'm probably just messing it up more, I've tried fixing it for about an hour now and I've just lost hope :/
Same thing happen to me too. When I enabled my mods it doesnt work. Then I would go back into the game with the same setting. I even try deleting the option in my sims 4 folder yet it still didn't work. It may be EA its self.
I have recently updated my game of sims 4. All my saves are still there and so are my preferred settings. However, everytime I start the game It tells me to re-enable my mods. I have done this multiple times and repaired the game. I can play any of my saves but CC and mods will just simply not be there
Another new feature to come out of the latest Sims 4 Game Patch, is the ability for the game to automatically disable the mods folder when a new update is available. The game will do this by default, so that means you will need to re-enable mods once you load the game.
After you Download and Install Mods inside your Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 4/Mods folder (you can organize your mods and custom content into subfolders), you need to enable them from within the game.
You need to enable mods and CC using the options menu inside the game. Each time you update the game it disables mods because some can be outdated and not function properly. It should work after you do that.
I updated my Sims 4 base game and I got the usual message that CC has been disabled, so I went to re-enable the CC in Game Options and it's checked as enabled, but the box is greyed out and I can't select unselect it. When I hover over the enable CC option, it states it's been disabled, but I can't check or uncheck the box. I attached a screenshot of the issue too.
MOD (modification) is a modification or enhancement program of the game which has the ability to modify some game settings. In Sims 4, its existence can change the behavioral characteristics of sims, or introduce new functions, so as to improve the game's playability greatly.
If you have already added mods and CC in Sims 4 and successfully enabled them in the game, don't take it lightly now. Every time Sims 4 is updated or a patch is added, your mods will easily lead to game code errors. 2b1af7f3a8
