Star Alliance has a dedicated system that can check if you are a valid *A G passenger, although most alliance members have already integrated that system into their Departure Control System or web-based staff intranet. To answer your question, a boarding pass showing your gold status should suffice for lounge access.
True. I got OZ *G status since Dec 2018 and my status was supposed to be active until Aug 2022, but Asiana has extended the accumulation period by a year so it's now active until Aug 2023. I haven't purchased any Asiana flight since 2019 and I still keep the *G status. I just flew other star alliance airlines and took all the benefits. How generous!I must be one of the cherry-pickers who contributed to the financial crisis of Asiana..
I am flying Turkish Airlines from D.C. to Istanbul in business class, and connecting from there on a Turkish flight in economy to New Delhi. I am a star alliance gold member. What is my exact baggage allowance Can I check in two bags through from DC to Delhi

(the rest of your current window plus two more years) You would only start the re-qualification process on 1 April 2022.

Star Alliance is the world's largest airline group by several measures, including members and passengers carried. With 26 airlines to pick from, what are the elite tiers you can reach and how quickly is it possible The answer isn't simple and may not be as exciting as status with the other major alliances.
To keep things simple, the Star Alliance only offers two tiers, Silver and Gold, similar to rival SkyTeam. However, you have likely noticed most airlines have three or even more levels of status. These are only matched across to Silver and Gold on the alliance level, meaning your benefits will remain the same on partner airlines.
These benefits are quite self-explanatory, giving you higher priority when trying to book into any cabin or when trying to fly standby on any carrier. However, these guaranteed benefits fall short of other alliances. For comparison, oneworld Ruby (the lowest elite status of three) throws in guaranteed access to business class check-in queues, while SkyTeam Elite (the lower of two tiers) even guaranteed priority boarding and an extra checked bag!
As you might have guessed, each airline has its own policy when it comes to Silver status and Star Alliance is actually trying to giving carriers flexibility by not imposing benefits. Nearly all members will allow priority boarding and check-in for their members and those of other alliance partners. For instance, United MileagePlus Silver (Star Alliance) will give you Group 2 boarding access and an extra checked bag, not dissimilar to Gold on American Airlines AAdvantage (oneworld Ruby, American's lowest elite tier).
Airlines want to steal business from one another, so they periodically run status match promotions or challenges to entice customers to focus on their business. The usual requirement is that you have current Gold or Platinum status with an airline outside of the same airline alliance, as alliance members do not want to engage in infighting (but they sometimes do).
As a Gold member, you can move up to the ShebaMiles Platinum tier status once you have collected 100,000 Status Miles or taken 80 tier Qualifying Segments. Your new Platinum tier status will then appear in your digital card and you can start using the Platinum tier benefits immediately. Your Platinum membership will continue for the rest of program calendar year after qualification plus the next twenty-four months.
The ShebaMiles Blue tier status is the starting point for your ShebaMiles journey. As soon as you earn 3,000 Status Miles or complete 2 Qualifying Segments, you will qualify for Blue tier status and start enjoying exciting opportunities.
As a Blue member, you can move up to the ShebaMiles Silver tier status once you have collected 25,000 Status Miles or taken 25 tier Qualifying Segments. Your new Silver tier status will then appear in your digital card and you can start using the Silver tier benefits immediately. Your Silver membership will continue for the rest of program calendar year after qualification plus the next twelve months.
As a Silver member, you can move up to the ShebaMiles Gold tier status once you have collected 50,000 Status Miles or taken 50 tier Qualifying Segments. Your new Gold tier status will then appear in your digital card and you can start using the Gold tier benefits immediately. Your Gold membership will continue for the rest of program calendar year after qualification plus the next twelve months.
For example, American Airlines offers AAdvantage Elite Status Challenges. To complete a challenge you must call the airline, choose a start date, and pay $120 for the Gold challenge or $250 for the Platinum challenge. For the Gold elite status challenge, rather than trying to earn 25,000 miles in a year, you can earn status in three months by earning 5,000 miles.
But if you don't want to buy status yourself you can be lucky enough to receive status as a gift. A number of travelers have been gifted status from employers, friends or family. If you know someone who has top tier elite status certain US air carriers will allow that person to gift a lower tier status to a companion. You can also be gifted status from an airline directly. We've read instances of travelers applying for a Platinum Status Challenge and they were gifted gold status.
Also, once you reach status you don't lose it. As long as you collect points with your card at least once a year your elite status miles are intact. Even when you obtain status those miles are carried over, meaning after you reach gold status you need to collect 16,000 miles to reach top tier status and not the full 20,000. From that point you have one year to collect 16,000 miles or else your miles will start expiring.
Lastly, you can start a contest on Flightfox. Flightfox experts understand ticketing, fare routes and more so they know how to find the best mileage runs available. Mileage Plan is the frequent flyer program of USA based airline Alaska Airlines (which merged with Virgin America in 2016). Members earn flight miles according to the distance flown, rather than according to the price of their tickets (which is now the new standard in the USA, Europe and Asia). For the average traveler, this means more free flights and faster elite status. Mileage Plan miles can be redeemed for award flights on Alaska Airlines and its partner carriers and provide eligibility for frequent flyer elite status. Alaska Airlines is a member of the One World alliance but has also established an impressive collaboration with a dozen other airlines, serving more than 900 destinations worldwide.
Lufthansa gold status is nearly impossible to achieve, unless you fly intercontinental business class at least 6-7 times per year. Its far better to achieve your status with Aegean, TAP or Turkish and then enjoy the amazing Lufthansa lounges with your partner gold card. 781b155fdc
